Ford Motor Company Fuels Futures at BGCPS

The Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs is in its second year as a Ford Fund partner in collaboration with Palm Springs Motors.

Ford Motor Company presented a Transit Connect van to the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs to help the club provide transportation for students after a recent state law forced the club to stop using its previous vehicle.  The donation was made at the 2019 PGA West Desert Classic.

“We would like to thank Ford Motor Company for donating this Transit Connect to our Club,” said Margaret Keung, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs. “This will help us tremendously in our efforts to transport students to our Club. Being able to partner with Ford has been a wonderful experience, for the Club, the students and our community.”

Changes in state law requiring commercial licenses to drive large passenger vehicles forced the club to stop using its original van last year. The new 2019 Transit Connect XLT Wagon can transport up to 7 passengers, making it the perfect vehicle to help the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs transport its students.

“It is an honor to be able to give back to local students and support the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs,” said Rob Kaffl, General Sales & Marketing Manager of Ford Motor Company Western U.S. “They do such wonderful things for our community and we at Ford Motor Company are dedicated to supporting efforts and programs that put kids first.”
