Welcome

The Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs is a nonprofit organization offering supervised after school, summer, and winter programs to the youth of the greater Palm Springs, California area. Membership fees are based on a sliding scale and scholarships are available to qualified families.

We are located adjacent to Sunrise Park near the corner of Ramon Rd. and Sunrise Way. [Get Directions]

Operations

During the school year, the Club is open weekdays after school (see hours of operation for details).  Bus service to the Club from many schools is provided by First Student Transit (at a $10 a month charge), but parents or guardians must arrange for transportation between the Club and home. During school recesses, the Club operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Children ranging in age from first through twelfth grade may attend.  The calendar gives more detail on holidays and special events.

Mission

Mission:

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Founded in 1948 to develop boys (and in 1989, girls) into responsible adults, the Boys & Girls Club serves children from all backgrounds, though special consideration is given to those from disadvantaged backgrounds.  Over 65 percent of the over 2,000 members who attend annually are from single parent or low-income households.

Our professional staff helps these children develop physically, mentally, and emotionally by providing quality activities emphasizing the intersocial skills necessary to become an independent, successful adult.

We invite you to learn more about our programs and facilities through the information we have compiled here.  Should you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us or stop by our clubhouses during operating hours. We look forward to serving you.

BE GREAT!

Articals About The Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club

by Jeremy Duardo - age 10

My name is Jeremy. I like Boys & Girls Club because it is like a paradise and a home to me because they give us food, prizes and a chance to listen to us.

What I Like About The Boys & Girls Club

by Skyler Jamison - age 8

What I like about the Boys & Girls Club is what we to do. My favorite staff is Lois and Andrea. What I like about Lois is her ideas for kids and clubs. One or two of her clubs is Astronomy club and D-image. What I like about Andrea is she is nice, fun, cool, prints me out stuff, is very helpful and is respectful. My favorite rooms are the gym and the games room. The reasons I like the gym is they have cool games and exercises and a nice intelligent staff and one of my favorite games is army-dodge ball and army navy also. Another one of my favorite staff is Ms. Branson because she’s nice, friendly, athletic and has fun games. My favorite thing to play with in the Boys & Girls Club is the juke box and the Legos because you can hear music and with Legos you can build like 500 things. One of them is ships for battle and that’s what I think and like about the Boys & Girls Club.
